A book about mindset and the realities of street-level violence. The author sets himself apart from operator types by focusing on the criminal element, realities of violence, and legal, psychological, and social consequences of the kind of violence most people might expect to encounter.

The author's "I've been through it man, you don't know it like I do" comments seem a bit self-serving sometimes, but I suppose he's right. I've never done hard time for stabbing a man to death.

The book serves as a bit of a gut check and tries to make sure you've thought through everything that might happen if you end up in an escalated situation that results in someone leaking all over the ground. Overall, probably a good book to go through if you carry at all. I cruised through the ebook version but bought a paper copy afterwards to go through again at some point. I'll update this with a better review + notes once I read it again.
